Jean Luce (French, 1895–1964) Rare Signed Art Deco Smoked Glass Vide-Poche France, circa 1930

An exceptional and rare signed Art Deco vide-poche by celebrated French designer Jean Luce, executed in heavy smoked glass with finely acid-etched geometric decoration characteristic of his avant-garde designs of the late 1920s and early 1930s. The bold architectural motif, rendered in a rich bronze tone, reflects the elegant modernism that made Luce one of the leading figures of French Art Deco decorative arts.

The bowl retains its original acid-etched JL monogram within a square cartouche, confirming its authenticity. Thick, beautifully finished glass with polished edges and softly rounded corners demonstrates the superb craftsmanship associated with Jean Luce’s luxury tableware.
